Blazars on pc-scales:
I am interested in the brightness temperature and diameter gradients of jets on pc-scales. These are obtained by model-fitting VLBA data of jets with gaussian components. The resulting gradients can be used to test jet models liked those established by Blandford&Königl (1979) or Königl (1981).

Blazars on kpc-scales:
I use VLA, GMRT and and LOFAR data to study blazars on kpc-scales. At low radio frequencies (MHz-low GHz regime) the unbeamed emission of the extended structures becomes optically thin and the radio spectrum of these sources steepens in contrast to the core dominated flat spectrum in the higher GHz regime. Different properties of these objects on kpc-scales like morphology and luminosity can be studied to test the unification scheme of AGN, see Cooper et al. (2007) and Kharb et al. (2010).

PMN J1603-4904:
In a recent study, Müller et al. (2016), we were able to classify PMN J1603-4904 as a medium sized object (MSO) with a turnover in the radio spectrum at about 490 MHz which corresponds to a linear size of about 1.4 kpc when applying a synchrotron self absorbed model. Also known as γ-ray emitting source from the 3LAC catalog, PMN J1603-4904 is confirmed to be a young γ-loud radio galaxy.
